85 Miracle Match Marathon 01/31/10 Waco TX 4:41:23 Marathon 161 76/168 56/106 14/24 Very tough course, more hills in the second half than anybody should be allowed to enjoy! I ran all the hills. First cool (really closer to cold for Texas) for this race ever...well last year was cold at the start, but this year it never warmed up. BEST food ever at any race! More rest stops than a RnR marathon. Wine, Margaritas, beer, fajitas, yummmmm! Got a finisher's jacket too! Well worth the trip, host hotel is on the start finish line...talk about convenient! Very nice event...small almost hometown event.
84 Goofy Race and half 01/10/10 Disney World FL 5:06:35 Marathon   8262/16874 5118/8725 443/808 boy were the races cold this year! it was so hot last time that I ran this...5th anniversary...swore that I'd never go back..went for the special medals...they were not so special in my opinion. I hope that I do not sucker and go back again. Fun race, but been there, done that. Too expensive and well whatever, not worth coming back, but defenitely worth doing once! The half was a cold sleet/rain, the full was just cold.
83 Run For The Ranch 12/27/09 Springfield MO 4:29:19 Marathon 496 53/95 40/68 2/13 cold day...cold night. If I had known, I'd have run a few minutes faster...or at least picked up my trophy!
82 White Rock Marathon 12/13/09 Dallas TX 5:05 Marathon 3032 3592/4453 2428/2855 222/268 hometown marathon...that I never run, been there, done that. I ran with a friend that was running her first marathon. She wanted to break 5 hours...stomach issues at mile 16 to the finish did her in...nice weather for a change, cool and overcast.
81 Flying Monkey Marathon 11/22/09 Nashville TN 4:39:40 Marathon 44 130/205 94/132 9/12 Another great day for a race! Saw many friends, had a nice time on the course...the grapes and chocolate covered rasins were my personal favorites, but the PB&J sandwiches and vodka at 23 and gingerbread at 24 were pretty dang good candidates as well! I always enjoy the Monkey...and my streak continues!
80 Sun Trust Marathon 11/14/09 Richmond VA 4:21:02 Marathon 2956 2051/3785   146/261 Nice course. We had good weather. Very colorful homes, nice rolling course, good spectators, a few bands and lots of DJ's on the course. Parking was confusing to me, but turned out okay. I stopped for a beer at a bar...nobody had ever done that before they said. Go figure! I messed up my reservations...book flight on the wrong day so I had to fly to DCA instead.
79 Marshall University 11/01/09 Huntington WV 4:27:49 Marathon 295 212/250 158/178 24/26 Great weather! Easy course! Nice two-sided medal!!! Good deal that one should truly think about to get in West Virginia.
78 Amica Marathon 10/18/09 Newport RI 4:57:05 Marathon   357/463 225/272 39/47 Wow! What a great route. Also, wow! What a marginal day for a race! If you could ignore the weather it was the most amazing race! I have never seen so many billions of dollars in real estate in a small place. The summer homes of the old money are unbelievable and they go on for miles! Now this is another place to spend an extra day or so. Take a week and do this double...a few days in Vermont, run, run, a few days in Rhode Island. Two amazing places to see, two pretty good runs. I finished pretty late and there were like 50 pizzas left and 5 gallons of soup...maybe more! Now on a lousy day to have that much warm food left...or any! was amazing to me. The organization was weak at this race, but I think that I read/heard that they had added the half this year. It is tough when your race grows 5X all at once. The rest stops did fine, heck they did better than fine! They opened your gels or energy bars for you! That can be tough anyday, but on a wet, cold, rainy day it was impossible to open a gel even if you wanted to...so other than transportation issues they did a great job. I was so slow and I get to races early so the transportation was working for me, but it failed the masses, especially the hoard of halfers. Transportation has broken down even for the Rock n Roll machine, so that is forgiveable (like that new word...or did I just misspell it???)
77 Green Mountain 10/17/09 South Hero VT 4:36:27 Marathon   217/300 158/202 53/65 Vermont was a pretty state, amazing rest stops driving up from Boston. You need to stop and enjoy these, and the coffee is excellent! Super small town event. half on soft surface. the pasta meal is excellent...the race is as close to free as you can get, yet still get a long sleeve shirt and medal! full of maniacs as this is the October double season in New England...doubles every weekend to knock out the states for the 50 staters and double up for the maniacs. The pasta meal is served to you by the 8th graders. They bring in a chef to cook, so don't worry about this being a fund raiser for the 8th grade! They assign you a seat...yeah, that is like herding cats as most of us know too many people to be directed anywhere...but will find you a good seat if you need one. There will be a menu and you they come take your order. The menu is brief, spaghetti...but with meat balls or sausage or both! The dessert selection is wonderful...and your meal is served on real plates, not paper. Nicely done. The next day you get to come to the gym to stay warm and relax before the race. You will see fields full of bird houses, nice views of the water and meet Ellie is it? Whatever, they have a monster of the lake and there are a few dinosaurs on land as a tribute to her. There is a late bump in the course, but the apples are being harvested and it is great little island. You need to have a few days to see some of the quaint little villages throughout Vermont. This is an amazing area and very charming...well I liked it so there! Did I mention that it was like $23?
76 Maine Marathon 10/04/09 Portland ME 4:32:53 Marathon   576/958 374/556 38/63 pretty course. Part of a great double. nice color, nice houses, not as hilly as New Hampshire the day before. Not only showers, but they gave you towels! Nice little medal in the shape of the state! Enamaled too!
75 New Hampshire 10/03/09 Bristol NH 4:24:18 Marathon   132/297 105/187 30/50 rain/misty day...fairly hilly course, nice downhill finish! Hot food, showers, excellent double marathon!
74 Omaha Marathon 09/27/09 Omaha NE 4:29:12 Marathon   283/453 215/312 20/29 Moderately hilly course just before the half...but that was also about the only pretty part of the course. rather bleak course other than the ball field, zoo, and the other turn around was a nicer area.
73 ADT Marathon 09/07/09 Colorado Springs CO 5:05:57 Marathon 318 271/368 168/218 20/33 net downhill, pretty course. nice firm surface, pretty views...I just hate altitude!!!!
72 ET Full Moon Midnight Marathon 08/09/09 Rachel NV 7:35:51 51 km   47/49 34/34 6/6 Windy this year...first year of the Ultra. Had 3+ hours of headwind, toughest year yet, but cool!
71 El Scorcho III 07/19/09 Ft. Worth TX 5:46:06 50 km 142 42/91 33/65   Very nice weather this year. Very smooth course again this year...I hated the new pin, no sheriff's badge this year!!!!!!!!!!! Bummer in spades!
70 Swan Lake Marathon 06/14/09 Swan Lake SD 5:30:02 Marathon 71 58/73 48/60 9/15 flat again...but lots of dirt
69 Marathon to Marathon 06/13/09 Storm Lake IA 4:27:48 Marathon   90/167 61/104 19/37 flat, great weather, wonderful tribute to Spam??? lots of young corn in the ground.
68 Coeur d'Alene 05/24/09 Coeur d'Alene ID 4:00:08 Marathon   101/316 70/186 6/14 pretty course. great weather. got bad info on the new course profile, but I think that some mile markers were marginally off and trying to break four hours with the least effort possible I under shot it by a few seconds...but I took lots a nice pictures while out running the marathon.
67 Fargo Marathon 05/09/09 Fargo ND 4:11:15 Marathon 1359 654/1265 467/778 49/82 flat course, great weather, lots of crowd support, easy race, nice logistics
66 Big D 04/05/09 Dallas TX 4:17:29 Marathon 111 198/486 144/297 14/29 Very windy! Ran with Elle. Could have run faster, but it was Elle's first marathon, couldn't leave her! Unlimited beer and food at the finish even for slow people!
65 Miracle Match Marathon 03/01/09 Waco TX 4:39:02 Marathon 1763 29/67 21/41 2/7 Toughest marathon in Texas, one of the toughest in the country. 2nd half of my double. Windy, cool at start. Chuck won it as the 2nd half of his double. Good food, very small field. Nice medal this year, finisher's shirt, well done event.
64 Cowtown Ultra 02/28/09 Ft. Worth TX 5:22:29 50 km 1234 55/130 46/88 8/14 Very windy! Pretty cool as well. Good food, lousy rest stop execution, first half of a double for me. Ran the last 5 mile the fastest, actually a 50K PR for me. Had a big party with friends that came in to do the double as well. cute bib number, was my fourth 50K too
63 Austin Marathon 02/15/09 Austin TX 4:16:49 Marathon 1918 1816/4053 1332/2457 89/201 I loved the loop course, missed seeing the capital right next to me! Ran my usual negative splits. Great spectators like always. Hot food, finisher's shirt and beer mug.

60 Run for the Ranch Marathon 12/28/08 Springfield MO 4:22:26 Marathon 1002 41/68 32/51 3/8 Changed the 5K loop to not have any out and back or turn arounds. Sort of liked the old route better. Less support than even prior years, more traffic. Still must break four hours to get a medal at the race, but they gave age group trophies this year. Fantastic food afterwards! Fun race as you start at 2:30 and finish at night. Very small neighborhood race.
59 Las Vegas Marathon 12/07/08 Las Vegas NV 4:27:38 Marathon   1751/3517 1250/2207 120/226 Better than '06. Decent weather, still have issues with no food and rest stops were weak this year. The traffic issue if you were not in a strip hotel was unbelievable. Got to start up front with the Elvi!
58 Flying Monkey Marathon 11/23/08 Nashville TN 4:41:06 Marathon 44 124/193 97/137 10/15 Very nice day again! Great food! Fun people! Wonderful event. Yes, it is very tough, all hills, but many great volunteers make it fun!
57 San Antonio 11/16/08 San Antonio TX 4:17:38 Marathon   2583/7523 1761/4014 172/432 Now a Rock n Roll. Sort of liked last year's course better. There were only subtle differences this year, but noticeable. That little hill up to the finish sucked the most. Typical great Elite marathon though! Still too warm to run in November.
56 Ft. Worth Marathon 11/09/08 Ft. Worth TX 4:28:36 Marathon 36     3/3 lots of rest stops, lots of food afterwards, very small race (maybe 36). Boring route, but that's okay as it was for a good cause.
