Maiden Peak is no joke, took me over an hour to make it 3 miles. Had enough legs to run about 8:30 pace the last 7.5. Perfect weather and a very well organized race! Should be able to push a little more next time now that I know the course a little. |

A lot of rain and clouds for "Sun" Mountain! Winthrop is a great little town, gonna stay for an extra couple days next time and only do the 50k so I can check out some of the cool town bars! |

Paced the 4:00 group. It was very hard to not be able to slow down with people as they started to fall behind :(. But congrads to Maniac Roger who BQ'd! (and only one of two that kept up). I didn't have much to do with it other than giving him something to chase instead of looking at a watch, but his BQ made the pacing duty feel very rewarding. Very well ran marathon but not nearly as scenic as I thought it would be. |

Used this race to practice running slower for my pacing duty at the next days marathon. Got a ridiculous sunburn and it was only high 60's. A little too flat for a training run and my taste, but very well ran for a FREE race! |

First Double - Race #2 - I had heard somewhere that this was a poorly run marathon??? Somebody was smoking something because this was a great race. Was feeling great today so I picked it up around halfway point for about a 7 minute negative split! |

First Double - Race #1 - The lead wheelchair took a wrong turn in the first mile which shortened the course .8 miles. At the finish they sent us out to do a quick out an back to make up the difference. What a joke... I feel so bad for the first timers and people that would have BQ'd as surely Boston won't accept these now that the course isn't certified. Held back for the double and felt great, warm at finish, even got a little sunburned. Official time listed is 3:36:42 because they didn't include the .8 as some people didn't do it. |

Paced Carla for her 1st marathon! She was one of very few people to have a negative split... ran her 26th mile in 8:46, almost 2 minutes faster than her first! She laid everything on the table to hit her "best case" goal of 4:30 and made it. Very proud of her! |

Wow, I had no business running this after pushing myself last week. Lacked energy from the start. Weather was just to nice too pass up a long run though. Course was so so, enjoyed the single track but hated the small sections of muddy fire road. |

Only needed to run 7:30 miles the last 4 miles to BQ... then I hit the hill at mile 24 and legs were done from the downhill:(... realized I was at best going to be a minute short of a BQ so I shut er down. Only planned on a 3:30 so it was a good day and now I know BQ is just a matter of time! |

Took a wrong turn AGAIN!, but nly about a mile and a half extra. Course was nice overall and the weather was perfect, first 10 miles somewhat hilly then mostly flat. Not a fan of running that long on asphalt. |

Loved this course and the weather was perfect! Started with a sprained ankle, ended with pain in my calf... happy to finish. If they gave refunds I wouldn't have ran but glad I did. |
