My final 50th was delayed a month, but still fantastic, beginning with the ride with Marie, breakfast at Betsy & Matt's, running with Marie, Tory, Karen, Betsy, Carol, Rob, Katie, Rich, then having Chris, Ryan, and Abby waiting for me at the end to take me to the Cheesecake Factory. Steve did a fantastic job of putting this race together with a great crew. Thank you to all the Maniacs who made this 50X50 running goal such a blast. You are all SO inspiring! I look forward to seeing you again as a Fanatic. Happy running! |

Fun riding, rooming, and hanging out with Lesa and Jenny in the cutest little western town. Fantastic race beginning with the pasta feed, ending with great course, massage, full lunch, cool medal, ice cream, and prizes. All free! RD James did an outstanding job! Lots of nice runners and volunteers too. |

I love this run! The forested loops around the lake with tasks and snacks between really make this seem easy. Running in dresses is fun too. Again the guys outdid themselves and us. Lots of spectators from the swim meet thought so too. They were more interested in our group than their own competition. Thank you Diana, Stacey, and volunteers for a fantastic day! |

Thankfully Mo and Cheri called us back (got to climb back up the steep hill). Oh well, our goof gave John his 1st Ultra- 27 miles! Great event Arthur. Thanks! |

I loved it all - from helping at the Expo on Fri. to the Maniac Reunion, to the event itself. TP and Paul put on a top-notch event. It was great running with Takao, Brian, and Rick, and having the Cross family welcome me at the finish. To end it all with a rollicking lunch at Harmon's with Bill, Monte, Rick, Leslie, Mo, and others was the cherry on the top! |

Loved this run beginning with the enthusiastic start line WAVE, festive costumes, floats, beads in trees/street, tree tunnels, and St. Charles mansions. Encouraged to see a lot of progress has been made since our Mission trips after Katrina. Couldn't see the Audubon Nature Ctr. where we worked, but the park looked good. Greg surprised me along the route (came out to get a kiss before his flight). Met lots of Maniacs and hung out with Martha C. at the finish. |

Goofy day. Totally absorbed in conversation with Terri U. when at mile 17, I got a painful hitch in my hip. Walked back to the start. 'Figured I'd have to walk the last 8 miles, but after 2 started running again. Mistakenly turned around at the 50K marker so went back to run last 3 miles. Borrowed Adrian's GPS, but didn't start it for 1/4 mile, so did an extra 1/2 mile (which was fine with me, as it allowed me to finish with Bob Dolphin) Then I felt good enough to go out and run the 50K! But I didn't. Thank you Adrian and Marty for all your help and goodies! You're the best!! Terri, can't wait to finish our talk! |

'Wasn't expecting hills (it always looks so flat when we fly over). Still, I liked this course with wide, soft wooded trails, that became even softer after a few loops in the rain. Having a cyclone fence as a guide the entire way made getting lost an impossibility. Nice running with Jessica and Brian. Thanks Van for yet another great run (and goodies). |

Greg flew down with me, but we got stuck in Salt Lake so I didn't make it to the expo (fortunately they let me pick up my bib, race morning) so I didn't know Deena Kastor, Ryan Hall, or Str. John McCain were there! I did see Dean Karnasas run by with the 50Kers. Ran with MM Kevin Brosi and Tim from Team Hoyt. The cheerleaders, bands, and aid stations were great. What a treat this run was: Greg brought me clean gear at the finish, we hopped on the Light Rail back to our hotel, took a bath, ate out, stayed a second night, then flew home the next day. Nice. |

Running around Seward Park by headlamp is not my idea of safe, but had to start early in order to get to Portland for a reunion. Running solo is not my idea of fun either, although I met some new Maniacs and cheered my PT to her first 1/2 marathon finish. (Yeah Heather!) Still, a great course, fantastic volunteers, even better RD (who even holds our keys), and Prez (photographer and cheerleader extraordinaire). |

"Neither snow, nor rain, nor sleet, or hail"... Tracy Brown and I figured we must be hard core to be 2 of 3 (out of about 25 starters) to brave the snow to finish the 50K (although due to a navigational glitch, we turned it into a 54K). Thank you Dan for your tech support. We had a great time chatting while straddling single-track puddles, jumping mini-ponds, and sloshing up wooded hills.
