106 BUZZ MARATHON 02/16/13 SAN MIGUEL CA 4:31:22 Marathon 462 25   2/ 2 New course was long by 0.5 plus a course error of 0.4 that many did at mile 4, leading to 27.1 total. Good weather but L hip pain and L bunion conspired to make it a very painful run. First half - 1:58; second half - 2:33.

103 BIG SUR TRAIL 09/29/12 BIG SUR CA 4:48:37 Marathon 450 30/ 93 21/ 53 1/ 3 TOUGHEST race (and most beautiful) I ever did -- 5700' climb and drop over 6 hills. Good weather, bright with fog, cool breeze off the ocean, never hot.

98 HOUSTON 01/15/12 HOUSTON TX 4:25:03 Marathon 4019 3903/ 3903 2780/ 2780 64/ 180 Couldn't get much better -- cool, overcast, [mostly] calm. Crumped at M17 and limped in. Watching the Trials the day before was a terrific experience.
97 OPERATION JACK 12/26/11 MANHATTAN BEACH CA 4:18:00 Marathon 130 45/ 104 34/ 70 3/ 3 Clear, calm, sunny, 48-65*, double loop along the beach and Ballona Creek. As usual started too fast and ruined my plan but still nearly hit my goal. 2:01/2:17 split (intended 2:10/2:05).
96 PENANG BRIDGE INTERNATIONAL 11/20/11 GEORGETOWN MYS 5:03:16 Marathon   259/ 1190     UGH! Haven't felt this bad in years -- I do not recommend races starting at 2AM, tho that did make the temp bearable. Course is novel, with half of it on the bridge. Good to meet so many of the Malaysia MM contingent.

94 DEATH VALLEY TRAIL 12/04/10 TITUS CANYON CA 4:28:12 Marathon 79 99/ 240   3 A perfect day -- cool, calm -- and a spectacular course. The gap between White Pass and Red Pass is stunning and challenging.
93 MALIBU INTERNATIONAL 11/14/10 MALIBU CA 4:07:22 Marathon 130 134 86 2 Windy, sunny, dry day. 16 miles along the coast, with several short hills in the final 7 miles. Dozens of MMs.
