110 Hudson Mohawk Winter Marathon 02/17/13 Albany NY 5:28:14 Marathon         Cold and 40 mile an hour wind resulting in zero degree with wind chill made this the toughest marathon ever for me. I also got lost adding an extra two miles. So close to abandoning it several times but glad I stuck it out.

72 St. George 10/02/10 St. George UT 4:57:11 Marathon         Longest break between marathons for me in a few years. Concerned about foot issue (bunion). Happy to finish in an unseasonably hot day. This marathon is right up there for me. Volunteers were amazing, anticipated how to help. As the miles went on they understood. Popsicles, ice, cold wet towels in the last three miles.The local community really get involvd here which for me is a hugh differenciating factor. Congrats STG ; a great event.

39 Extraterrestrial Full Moon Midnight Marathon 08/17/08 Racel NV 5:12:30 Marathon         State # 30. Unique experience. Not easy (1st half climbs 1100ft + it's at altitude). However the 'pain' melts away once you reach the Little A’Le’Inn and enjoy their hospitality. Well put together.

Met a maniac on the return flight who was doing Lewis and Clark the following day. This got me thinking if I could do 50 (marathons & maybe States) before turning 50. Would require 41 States in 20 months.
