23 Mumbai Marathon 01/15/12 Mumbai IND 4:52 Marathon         Decided to risk and achilles strain and run - was uncertain till 10 hours before the run...ran/walk the course but survived
22 Comrades 05/29/11 Durban-Pietermaritzberg ZAF 11:53:20 86.96 km 34715       My first comrades - what a great race....cramped badly at halfway mark but kept going...and finished with 400 seconds to spare within the 12 hour cut off....
21 Delhi Ultra 03/26/11 Delhi IND 5:39 50 km 900 8/ 65     a nice training run as part of the build up to Comrades
20 Mumbai Marathon 01/16/11 Mumbai India 4:14 Marathon 679       My best effort in Mumbai - good weather really helped
19 Bangalore Ultra 11/14/10 Bangalore India 6:30:00 50 km 10504       Ambitious of me to attempt an Ultra 2 weeks after the Athens run....legs were weary and the hot sunny day did not help!! Yet I lasted 50km, so I'll take that
18 Athens Classic Marathon 10/31/10 Athens Greece 4:28:30 Marathon 5987       A fantastic race to celebrate the 2500th anniversary of the original marathon from marathon to Athens, ending inside the 1896 Olympic stadium. Awesome experience and fantastic crowds helped me survive a tough uphill course.
17 Kaveri Trail marathon 09/19/10 Srirangapatnam India 4:45:14 Marathon 1707 32/ 120   4/ 10 Nice build up for the Athens marathon - did not push myself and it did get quite warm, but not as hot as last year.
16 Auroville Marathon 02/14/10 Pondicherry India 4:20:40 Marathon 1013       Lovely trail, though was tough running in the dark ( 5 AM start) and got quite hot and humid at the end - happy with my time considering that it was a trail run and I've done a lot of running since July 2009.
15 Mumbai Marathon 01/17/10 Mumbai India 4:47 Marathon         Tough race in heat and humidity of Mumbai
14 Bangalore Ultra Marathon 11/15/09 Bangalore India 14:57 100 km 932 6/ 18 6/ 17 1/ 3 A tough but fantastic race - lost time due to darkness at start and end. Pleased that I was one of 7 who finished!!
13 Kaveri 09/13/09 Srirangapatnam   5:34 Marathon 972     3/ 6 Tough, very hot conditions led to a super slow race.
12 Great Tibetan marathon 07/18/09 Leh India 5:21 Marathon 15       A magnificent marathon at an altitude of 11500 feet.
11 Mumbai Marathon 01/18/09 Mumbai India 4:49 Marathon 436       I could make excuses and blame the heat for my very poor second half.....but need to get stronger!!
10 Bangalore Ultra Marathon 11/16/08 Bangalore India 11:20 75 km 751 5 1 1 A tough cross country Ultra in beautiful terrain - managed to finish inspite of bad cramps
9 Berlin Marathon 09/28/08 Berlin Germany 4:18:00 Marathon 6793       My first marathon outside India - an amazing experience. Realised I was not yet strong enough for a sub 4!!
8 Standard Chartered Mumbai international Marathon 01/20/08 Mumbai India 4:39:43 Marathon 427 180   20 Not as hot as the previous year, but poor organisation - late start and traffic makes things tough for runners taking over 3 hours for a FM. I was also tired from the 2 long runs in previous 2 months - but was determined to finish and enter the Maniacs group!!
7 Bangalore Ultra Marathon 12/16/07 Bangalore India 6:11 52 km       4 A runners dream. I could never believe I'd be running this distance - but a superbly organised race ( the best so far in India) made it possible. Truly a highlight in my life!!
6 Kaveri marathon 11/18/07 Srirangapatnam India 4:09:38 Marathon         One of the best marathons I have run. A scenic trail along a canal, early start, no traffic and plenty of aid stations made this a runners dream. Managed my personal best - and given that trail running is probably slower than road running, I felt that i could soon achieve my sub-4 dream.
5 Bangalore midnight Marathon 05/19/07 Bangalore India 5:21:25 Marathon         I had just got back from a long trip to eurpoe and US and entered this event with little training. Friends tried to stop me from running - but I was very keen. Running at night is quite a challenge - and is lonely. The race was 8 loops of the same track; though I did not enjoy this race, i hung in to finish in a slow time.
4 Standard Chartered Mumbai international Marathon 01/21/07 Mumbai India 4:58:09 Marathon 528 194   20 This is the biggest marathon in India - but amateur runners pay for this as the race starts at 7:45 AM and we finish at midday, which is trying as Mumbai weather is hot and humid and there is no shade. I suffereed with cramps from the 15 km mark, but hung in there to finish.
3 Times of India Bangalore International Marathon 09/17/06 Bangalore India 4:40:16 Marathon         Organisation was even worse than the previous year. Traffic slowed me down on many occasions; was also slowed down by thousands doing the 5 km dream run who kept coming in the way during the last 3 km. Funny thing is that the organisers care more for the dream run participants than for the Marathoners.
2 Liptons Bangalore International marathon 05/15/05 Bangalore India 4:35:00 Marathon         My first 'recognised' marathon - a tough race due to poor organisation. Ran the second half with little support by way of aid stations; traffic started soon after the halfway point, and it was no fun accompanying trucks along the route!!
1 Bangalore Cross Country Hash marathon 11/16/03 Bangalore India 6:02:00 Marathon   5/ 60 3/ 40 1/ 10 My first marathon - on a tough cross country trail. Had never run over 21 km before, and was determined to finish. Bad blisters in second half almost made me quit, but I survived.
