38 Hog's Hunt 50k 04/14/12 Huntsville TX 6:49:59 50 km 85 58/ 81     First Texas ultra. Nice event, well supported, two loop course, pretty good terrain in Huntsville St. Park. Rooty and sandy in places, but overall very runnable throughout. Temps in mid 80s with fairly high humidity, as evidenced by my 2:57 first half split and, well, a longer second half. Nice finisher's plaque and glad to finish. The acclimation continues...
37 Skagit Flats Marathon 09/11/11 Burlington WA 3:59:20 Marathon 117 136/ 299   44 Warm temps were on order and unfortunately I had to revise my goals. That said, things still went reasonably well, even though I just eeked under four hours. The volunteers did a fantastic job out there on a pretty tough day. A fun day overall and I look forward to returning next year.
36 Mt. Si ultra 04/10/11 Snoqualmie WA 9:18:13 50 mi 15 22/ 43     Rain soaked 50 miler, the first in almost three years, in the books. Abandoned run/walk plan and tried to run straight through as much as possible. A bit of nausea at mile 40 that I walked off for about 15-20 minutes probably cost me a sub-9 hour race. With a deeper base going into next year I hope to get back under this mark. It's kind of a different crowd there now and it'll be strange with Tony and Shawn gone next year. Still, fun times.
35 Dizzy Daze 03/26/11 Seattle WA 4:05:00 Marathon 92       Started late after coaching a three hour baseball practice. Basically a 50 km DNF, but got an "official" finish by stopping at the marathon. Started off with 8:20 miles for the first 10 miles, knowing I would slow but hoping to hang on for a while. Did not do so and limped to a hard finish. Starting hungry didn't help either but what the hey. Thanks to Matt and Betsy for being out there for my late start and for being so supportive.
34 Woolley Run 02/19/11 Sedro Woolley WA 5:05 50 km 641 15/ 30     A beautiful, sunny, but chilly day for the Woolley Runs. Very scenic as we headed outbound east towards the Cascades. Yummy Woolleydog to eat after a fairly low key and quiet race. Enjoyed my first outing on the Cascade Trail.
33 Cedar River Yours Truly 01/30/11 Ravensdale WA 4:48 50 km         First ultra since July '08. Good return as prep for Mt. Si 50 miler. Great day and nice to see folks out there I haven't seen in a while.
32 White River 50 mile 07/26/08 Crystal Mountain WA 11:46:32 50 mi 125 166/ 202     Seventeen minute PR! Good enough for my undertrained body. I had seriously forgotten how tough this course is, but it was certainly a beautiful day out there. It was nice to have enough in the legs to run down from Sun Top to Skookum Flats. Next time though, I'll try getting some sleep the night before minus the deer mouse running around in my car! Wow, glad I'm done with it though.
31 NB2V (Sno2V) 05/24/08 Snoqualmie WA 24:00:00 92 mi         Lots to say; not enough space to say it. Snow forced the route to go from Snoqualmie to Vantage, with a 30 minute drive around to Easton. Personal best distance and a long time for running. Jon Yoon, Thomas Tan, and Gary Vota were a superb crew. I supremely enjoyed this run, the tests it provided for me along the way, and the lessons I learned from its completion.
30 Mt. Si 50 Km 04/13/08 Snoqualmie WA 5:21:49 50 km 127 28/ 56     Beautiful day for running. Dropped down from 50 mile due to head cold. Practiced pacing for NB2V and just tried to enjoy the run without taxing myself and getting sicker. Ran with Thomas Tan for a while, but then he left me as I was going fairly slow. Couldn't catch him in the end, but ended up about three minutes behind. Really enjoyed this run...
29 Chuckanut Mt. 50 Km 03/15/08 Bellingham WA 6:58:35 50 km 26 227/ 294   57/ 63 Paced co-worker Thomas Tan (fellow Maniac) through half of his first Chuckanut. Good day overall, as preparation for NB2V begin. Nice and easy. Great support as usual up there.
28 Pigtail's Flat Ass 12/22/07 Renton WA 4:47 50 km 27       Steady rain, then let up, then more steady rain. Hands pretty cold most of the time, but hey, we have a reputation to uphold here in the Pac NW. A good run to get some miles in as serious training starts soon. Thanks to Van and volunteers for being there on a pretty nasty day. Hot chicken soup is yummy!
27 Carkeek 12 hour 11/17/07 Seattle WA 6:45:00 28.95 mi 4       Tough little urban nature park trails. Lots of up and down, but trails are wonderfully maintained and in great condition. Ran for just under seven hours in a "time on my feet" kind of day. Just trying to build up... Great to see many of the other faces out there too.
26 in Unity We Run 11/04/07 Kent to Alki WA 3:38:32 Marathon 2       Will fill in exact time when I see results from Jason. Should be about a three minute PR though. Fun day, a little soggy, but I enjoy running this time of year. Great job by Jason and volunteers as there was never any question on course markings. Sure was breezy along Alki!
25 Skagit Flats Marathon 09/09/07 Burlington WA 3:42:41 Marathon 127 45/ 185     PR by six minutes. Way off of the 3:30 I really wanted and poor pacing in the first half doomed me. Quite a headwind going out, but a nice tailwind coming back. Too bad I couldn't take full advantage. But it was a beautiful sunny day and a great crowd out there. Try again...
24 Lake Youngs Fund Run 07/14/07 Auburn WA 4:45:00 28.8 miles         First time running at Lk Youngs. Nice day - a little warm and humid. Tried to run sub 1:30 per loop: 1:21, 1:25, 1:58 - failed. Fun nonetheless. Thanks tc and family.
23 Mt. Si 50 Km 04/22/07 Snoqualmie WA 4:26:15 50.0 km 124 9/ 64     50 Km PR! Even better than the 4:45 I was shooting for. Great weather for running and all went well throughout.
22 Chuckanut Mt. 50 Km 03/17/07 Bellingham WA 5:51:04 50.0 km 190 102/ 257   34/ 62 What a muddy, mucky, messy race - but it was great fun! Managed to run most of the ups, except Chinscraper, but had a tough time staving off cramps on the long downhill and flats to the finish. Great tasting burritos afterwards.
21 Mt. Si 50 Km 04/23/06 Snoqualmie WA 5:15:32 50.0 km 88       Beautiful sun-filled day. Got a co-worker/friend through his first 50 km!
20 Ron Herzog 50k 11/12/05 Granite Falls WA 6:30:51 50.0 km 1 22/ 31     A little of everything: snow, rain, ice pellets, tank traps full of water, stream crossings, standing water for miles. What a day!
19 Baker Lake 50 km 10/01/05 Concrete WA 6:26:02 50.0 km 76 57/ 100     Beautiful rainy October day. Great rolling trail and a pretty leisurely pace as I build base. Felt GREAT after!
18 Chuckanut Mt. 50 km 03/19/05 Bellingham WA 6:08:30 50.0 km 134 112/ 210     Great day for running up there! Pretty dry and fast course for most. Tried to stay in cruise mode with 100 km upcoming.
17 Invest in Youth Fund Run 02/26/05 Lake Stevens WA 6:00:00 37.25 miles 118       A sparkling day at the track. Good day of running with some other Maniacs and ultra folks.
16 Seattle Marathon 11/28/04 Seattle WA 3:58:46 Marathon 1311 692   116/ 241 Last race of the year. Thank god! I'm ready to get back on the trails. This isn't what I was hoping for, but I guess it is fuel for 2005.
15 United We Run 11/07/04 Seattle WA 3:52:42 Marathon 65       Thanks Jason! Great day for running and a good chance to meet a couple more Maniacs. Tasty eats at Spud's afterwards. Way to go all - remember 9/11.
