53 Air Force Marathon 09/15/12 Dayton OH 4:10 Marathon 3865       Race started with a flyover by a Stealth Bomber and ended with running under the wing of a C17. Mostly flat course and I had the privilege of helping a new marathon, Taylor, get started. Fun race and the weather turned out perfect!
52 River Valley Marathon 08/18/12 Puyallup WA 4:35 Marathon 1       Wonderful 1st-year race put on by Nick! He did a great job - water stops, gels, medals, great course, and perfect weather.
51 Winthrop Marathon 06/10/12 Winthrop WA 4:16 Marathon 175     1/ 8 Beautiful downhill course on a gorgeous day. Course changed this year with a start on the bridge (3 miles downhill from the previous) with an added out-and-back in town for the last 3 miles. Had a significant headwind for the last two miles. Loved the beer and Mexican food afterwards and the band was awesome. Loved it!
50 Pittsburgh Marathon 05/06/12 Pittsburgh PA 4:57 Marathon 5509       I loved this course, the spectators were wonderful, the volunteers amazing. Everything was well-done but it got really warm (88) and I had the toughest race I've ever run. Had to work hard to not break my personal worst set at Boston three weeks ago!

47 L.A. Marathon 03/18/12 Los Angeles CA 3:59:07 Marathon         Got a window of good weather so was able to enjoy this beautiful course. A few hills in the early part but net elevation loss of 400' make for a fast course. A lovely race - and a nice BQ for me.
46 Surf City Marathon 02/05/12 Huntington Beach CA 4:18:30 Marathon 2727       Janet ran with me the entire race and Kim ran alone and PR'd. Beautiful day! Loved the middle-school kids volunteering in the park and I also enjoyed the out-and-backs along the beach. Tons of surfers to watch and saw dolphins both ways too! Could have used a few more water stops the last 6 miles. Really ran for the cool surf medal!
45 Seattle Marathon 11/27/11 Seattle WA 4:24:16 Marathon 2866       My first double!! The weather was as ugly today as it was beautiful yesterday. Started at 58 degrees and fell to 47 with tons of rain and gusty winds. Still, beautiful course, great water stations and volunteers, and I had a ball running with Tom, Janet, and first-timer Elizabeth!
44 Seattle Ghost Marathon 11/26/11 Seattle WA 3:53:14 Marathon 107       Beautiful day for a wonderful little race. Loved seeing friends on the course and at the aid stations. Tom paced me for 17 then I ran alone. Ended up PR'ing and BQ'ing. The lake felt great afterwards as did the hot dog!! Great race!
43 Long Beach Marathon 10/09/11 Long Beach CA 4:21:36 Marathon 3464       Beautiful course along and near the beach. Got a bit narrow on the beach trail/sidewalks. Beautiful sunny day!
42 Sydney Marathon 09/18/11 Sydney AUS 4:16:13 Marathon 12083 1602/ 3148   8/ 40 Started on the north side - ran over the Sydney Harbor bridge, through the Botanical Gardens and Hyde Park. Then we went out to another larger park (tons of Black Swans) back to the downtown, and finished at the Opera House. Just couldn't ask for a better race - well organized, plenty of water, polite runners, awesome volunteers, and a finish that was spectacular! For people who care - it got up to 30C at the finish but there was lots of shade on the course and frequently an ocean breeze. Needed lots of salt none-the-less.

40 Foot Traffic Flat 07/04/11 Sauvie Island OR 3:56:59 Marathon 1104     1/ 8 With Tom's training and Janet's pacing I finally did it - broke 4 hours!!!! Beautiful day on a flat course. Got a bit warm at the end but kept right on moving! Wonderful having Maniac friends there to share the joy!
39 Capital City 05/16/11 Olympia WA 4:27:32 Marathon       3/ 9 Started out with the 3:55 group but they were faster than me that day. Ended up running the rest of the race with Marilou. We joined up with Lenny about halfway through the course and the three of us finished together. A wet, cold day made warm by friendship. The beautiful jacket at the end helped too!
38 Tacoma City Marathon 05/01/11 Tacoma WA 4:12:11 Marathon 2180     1/ 5 Signed up for the half while working at the expo. Just before start time, Janet and I switched to the full and we were off and running. I always enjoy this course and with the perfect weather this year it was even better. Had a great day!
37 Wenatchee Marathon 04/16/11 Wenatchee WA 4:29 Marathon 1125       This is a wonderful small race that starts and finishes in downtown Wenatchee. It utilizes the River Loop Trail (you circle it twice) taking you over bridges and through parks while running beside the river. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed running with Nurse Jenny and Whitney for the 1st half of the race.
36 LA Marathon 03/20/11 Los Angeles CA 4:29:02 Marathon         Beautiful course from Dodgers Stadium to Santa Monica. Icy winds and torrential rains made it seem like we were running through a hurricane. First marathon I ran with my son Elliot (who signed up the day before with no training). Loved every minute!!

21 San Francisco Marathon 07/26/09 San Francisco CA 4:20:34 Marathon         Wave start was very organized but made it difficult to know where you were in the pack. The bridge was socked in with fog, it was elbow to elbow, and the uncovered expansion joints were slippery, but it was still fun running that icon. First half had the hills. Second half had lots of downhill.

11 Royal Victoria Marathon 10/12/08 Victoria BC 4:10:37 Marathon 1472 1190 387/ 889 74/ 157 Perfect weather for running - 50's and sunny. MaryLou and I followed the 4:00 pace bunny for the first 15 miles or so. He was doing a 10/1 - that was nice. My goal was to run a 4:15 or better so I was very pleased! New PR for me!!

8 Tacoma City Marathon 05/10/08 Tacoma WA 4:36:19 Marathon 2909       Ended up running with Abi and had a wonderful time!! We took it easy and talked and just had fun! Came in two minutes better than Hamburg! I needed that. Very happy! Thanks Abi.
7 Hamburg Marathon 04/27/08 Hamburg Germany 4:38:29 Marathon 2975       First international marathon. It got hot and I struggled with the last 8 miles or so. Carlsson ran me in from 35K on. That was the best part. Talked to some Brazilians and was interviewed by a German TV reporter too.
6 Pacific Rim 2008 24-Hour Run 03/15/08 Longview WA 4:48:00 Marathon 263       Went to help support Michelle in her first 50-miler. She didn't need any support! :-)
5 Y 6-Hour Fund Run 02/23/08 Lake Stevens WA 5:34:03 Marathon 193       Decided to run this race the day before and signed up that morning at the start. Ran it with Michelle and we talked the entire time. Beautiful weather and gorgeous mountains. This was fun!
4 Seattle Marathon 11/30/07 Seattle WA 5:08:11 Marathon 1739       Ran this race at my neighborhood-running partner's pace - it was her first marathon and I promised to stay with her. Michelle loaned me her Maniacs hat. That hat made a lot of friends! Beautiful day!!
3 Portland Marathon 10/07/07 Portland OR 4:25:47 Marathon         Fun race! First race I ran alone (except for the last six - my son ran those with me). Beer at mile 24! First time I got to wear my Maniacs singlet. Loved it!
2 Green River 06/02/07 Kent to Seattle WA 4:56:38 Marathon         Rob talked me into running this race to qualify for Maniac status. He paced me. Ran slower than we planned because of the heat! Walked in the Sound afterwards. Beautiful day!
1 Capital City 05/20/07 Olympia WA 4:41:59 Marathon         My first marathon. Rick ran with me the whole race. Elliot joined us for the last 6. Fun!
