First road race ever. Longest training run prior was 7 miles. I was completely unprepared but thought my youth would save me. 16.5 miles, no problems with 10 minute miles. After that it was a fight for survival and to finish. Knee felt like a bag of rocks, discovered what cramping muscles feel like, and lit the fire to addiction of marathon running. |

The sun was hot. People of Cleveland were great standing outside with water hoses spraying people down. This helped a ton. Last 5K there was barely any shelter from the sun. |
