I asked, purchased my own which they gave to me so I could run the last 100 AND take my football home - just like in the NFL when the ball carier so choses! Yea, this one was awesome.

98 Hogeye 04/11/10 Fayetteville AR 5:05:53 Marathon         I can't say enough about this one. ALL GOOD. The volunteers were awesome - much better than for races much larger in size. In fact one of the best of all marathons I have run!!! It was another run put on by runners for runners. (The early start was wonderful.) The website suggests it is in the top 10 toughest road marathons. I question that. It was hilly, but in stages that worked for me. They let runners know that water stops would be every mile. Mostly so, and at all water stops they had Gatorade!!! And most also had GU! I was in disbelief. And they never ran out of anything. For a small marathon they definitely had it right. The price for the event was well worth it – I believe (after the run), the two hot dogs that I had were the best in the world. And they were pouring free beer! All in all a great experience and I would recommend this one for all that need to add numbers or the state!

95 Land Between the Lakes 03/13/10 Grand Rivers KY 5:12:03 Marathon         Another AWESOME trail run. Fewer hills (than Tulsa two weeks ago), did not fall, did not lose trail, and friendly runners. Another run put on by runners for runners!!! Aid stations were well stocked and had plently of volunteers. Food was available after the run. The did NOT run out of anything. Race Director (Steve) was very helpful for my specific need. Again, another great event!

69 Run with the Horses 08/22/09 Green River WY 5:50:10 Marathon         Way off in the distance, I saw one herd of horses. But on the road, there was a contant reminder that horses were present (somewhere). It was great to see several fellow maniacs. The other high point was an impressive uphill climb at the start and it just kept going. And by the time I was coming back, the uphill still appeared to be ahead of me! Great day with very hot weather at the end (90+). And how could I forget the altitude of 6,000 +? It sucks sometimes training at 25 feet above sea level!

We stopped often to take pictures with family and to talk. Between Mile 11 and 13 the course narrows way down and it was a challenge to run with the half marathoners. Caught up to MK and ran with him for the last 5 miles. Saw several maniacs that I had met on previous runs. It was great to see so much yellow.
