227 #227 Dizzy Daze '12 03/24/12 Seattle WA 15:04:00 100 km 9       Thanks to RD Betsy and Matt for the great experience. I’m always happy to run event that is put in by my Maniacs family. I feel like a “CELEBRITY” from start to finish. About the event = my first 100K. No Separation until 50-miler. I started at 1:52 AM, Kevin Douglas is already on his 12th loop (100-miler) and being paced by Nick Plemel. Found out that you do not need a flashlight to run the outside loop. Started my first loop in 11 min/mile then decided to slow it down to 13 min/mile for my 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I slowed it down more for my next 4-loops. (14.5 min/mile). I reached the marathon distance at 5:45:00 and 50KM = 7:10:00. I was caught by Rob Stretz (who started @ midnight) at the end of my 6th loop (6:00AM) and Rick Haase is just started his race. After taking a short break to get my bib number and bag, I was able to catch them at mile-1 and walked with them for a while but I can feel the pain. It seems that I can’t separate my brain from my body and walking giving me more pain so I resorted to 100-mile-shuffle=slow jog. I reached the 50-miler (12 loops + 2 miles) at 12:02:00. With 12.2 miles left, I started to be happy because I got the separation that I’ve been looking. My finish time: 15:04:00=100KM
