Camping was a great way to go. You are within 200 yards of the start/ finish and walking distance to other points of interest on the base. Train for hills, sand, and heat!

We stayed in a chain hotel just outside of Syrascuse with a 30 minute drive the morning of the race. This was a much better choice than the host hotel (check tripadvisor for comments on the host hotel before booking).

This was the first year that solo marathon runners participated with team runners... and I highly recommend this race to anyone. Patriotic cause, and well organized.

Great race, but do NOT stay at the Rodeway Inn in downtown York. It is not in a safe neighborhood and its condition is deplorable.
