Temperatures started around 58° and rose to 67° during the race. There was one tough section of broken rock that almost seemed designed to twist ankles. |

I don't like the course that much. I would prefer to see it go further up Aurora Ave. to avoid having to come down from the upper level of the viaduct and then go back up at the end. At least the weather wasn't too hot. |

The Interurban Trail isn't very scenic, but at least it's flat. The weather was quite warm, but there was a nice breeze off the Puget Sound for the last few miles. |

There is pretty good crowd support considering how much of the race is through the countryside.
It was warm and I had given blood 12 days previously. As such, I am quite happy with my time. |

This is a reasonable course for a trail run. The small park forces you to cover the same ground over and over, but it is quite flat for a trail run. |

I love the course. The views are good and it is perfect for negative splits. The downhill on the second half makes the race more fun. |

Dean Karnazas ran this races as his first of 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days. (It was 49 days before the final race, the New York City Marathon.) I may not have been fast, but I still beat Dean Karnazas. |

Copenhagen is too small for a full marathon, so the course makes two loops around the city. It is a great course and very flat. The support is great and is a good race for international marathon tourism. |

It was a slow race, but I had an excuse. 46 days before the race, I was run over by a car while jogging. I had a collapsed lung, 10 broken ribs and a significant loss of skin on my back. My doctors didn't allow me to run again until 6 days before the race, so I didn't have much chance to recover my endurance. The trauma physician told me that they almost lost me in the ER. I thought it was a good race considering I had been briefly dead seven weeks before. |

I never felt better in a race. I still felt good at 20 miles and realized that I had a chance of qualifying for Boston. I started passing people and running more confidently at the end. A few hundred yards from the finish line, I saw the clock and knew I could beat 3:15:00. |

This was the old double-loop course on the Katy trail. The hill climbing the bluffs along Page Ave. is tough at miles 11 and 24, but it is hard to complian when the rest of the course is so flat. |
