41 The Woodlands 03/02/13 The Woodlands TX 4:58:33 Marathon 1454       Good course. Good temps. Felt fast for the first half. In fact it would have been a 4:30 if I kept the same pace. Still very excited about the results. Thinking of trying it again next year!

38 Livestrong Austin Marathon 02/20/11 Austin TX 5:09:43 Marathon 4691 3046/ 4786 2051/ 2848 72/ 127 A new pr by about 3 minutes! It was warm. 62 and humid at the start. In the 70's by the end. At least it was cloudy most of the time. Ran most of it shirtless. Really helps to cool off in these temps. Great first half. Ran with a buddy most of the second half. Beat Expo. :-) Finished with a really strong kick!

I have some really painful memories from last year. They tried to come back, but I ignored them. I was looking forward to the Hooters Girls water stop only to find a few handing out water. No big cheers. I was also looking forward to the Partons to find that those people were gone as well. :-( Still, my main mission was to help a friend do her first marathon. We got that done! All in all, it was a pretty good day. :-)
35 Marine Corps Marathon 10/31/10 Washington DC 5:12:52 Marathon 19454 13506/ 21355 8951/ 13196 736/ 1184 My first sub-5 marathon! Started well. Was on track for a faster time. Then my adductors fired up and I had to slow down. The last 10K was pretty hard for me. Al Gore is still 2 minutes ahead of me! :-| I definitely want to try this one again. Not very hilly by Austin standards. It was by Houston standards. :-)
34 Praire Fire 10/10/10 Whicita KS 5:55:10 Marathon 475       Ran with a friend who was doing her first marathon as a Maniac. Also met 2163, "Lyle, Lyle Crocodile" Robertson. Fun first half. Second half hurt a little more for Deb (2833, Debbie "Zippy Turtle" Bumgardner). Ok. I may have pushed the pace a bit faster than Deb was ready for. Overall, I felt pretty good. Felt pretty strong afterwards.
33 Capt'n Karls The Falls 08/14/10 Dripping Springs TX 11:30:00 60 km 615 52/ 52     First attempt at this distance. A couple of hard spots. HOT and Humid!! Bad blisters at the end. Looking forward to doing this again. :-)
32 The Gusher 05/01/10 Beaumont TX 6:14:50 Marathon 138     8/ 8 As expected, it was pretty warm and humid. The ocean breeze did help moderate the temps. My goal was 6 and I was there. The hot asphalt took its on toll on my feet. It was a good spot to slip in a race. I just wish this had been up north somewhere. The RD has some growing to do. Parts of this event were unorganized. At least the water stops were there for us all day. :-) There is a surprising amount of history in this town. Tell you what, if you are a woman over 50, this is the race to do. Would have gotten at least second place!
31 Hells Hills 50K 04/03/10 Smithville TX 8:37:55 50 km 508       Beautiful course. A little hot in the afternoon. Great run with one of favorite maniacs. :-)
30 Nueces Marathon 03/06/10 Rocksprings TX 7:40 Marathon 367       Wow! What a beautiful course. There were a ton of rocks. There was a significant hill we climbed twice. This was a technical course.
29 Mardi Gras RNR 02/28/10 New Orleans LA 5:32:57 Marathon 18132 2490/ 3509 1543/ 1958 157/ 189 A new PR! First half was great!! Second half was ok. Last 10K was hard. Still had a great time!!
28 Austin Marathon 02/14/10 Austin TX 5:27:09 Marathon 118 3242/ 4040 2071/ 2464 159/ 203 This is my home town marathon. A lot of friends are either running or watching. This is one week after my first 50 miler. Switched into race mode early and stayed there through the first half. Held on for a 9 minute positive split. Finished running! :-)
27 Rocky Racoon 02/06/10 Huntsville TX 14:47:45 50 mi 546       My first 50 miler. That was tough. Survived and it is history. :-) Will have to figure out how to prepare better.
26 Disney World Marathon (Goofy) 01/10/10 Orlando FL 6:26:04 Marathon         This was actually part of the Goofy weekend. It was Freezing! Literally! Water stops were icy. Walked a few miles with a friend. This was a fun weekend! Recommended to anyone who likes running in a crowd. More challenge is offered in a 5K on Friday! :-)
25 Texas Marathon 01/01/10 Kingwood TX 5:29 Marathon 221       Always love to start the New Year correctly! First half went well. My left hamstring became a problem in the second half. Saw several Maniacs including #120.
24 White Rock 12/13/09 Dallas TX 6:07:30 Marathon 3079 224/ 251 201/ 218 199/ 216 Finished. Left hamstring really fired up limiting how much I could run. Ran with Step. :-) Step reminded me that this is 7 in 5 weeks! And the season is just beginning!

22 Mississippi Coast Marathon 11/28/09 Gulfport MS 5:13:49 Marathon 56 91/ 107     very flat. Fast course. Loved it.
21 Route 66 11/22/09 Tulsa OK 5:51:42 Marathon 1269       Ran with Deb. I promised I would go slower than she expected. This is the 4th marathon in 2 weekends. 4 of 6 on goal. I am starting to feel pretty beat up. Medium size crowd to cheer. Some nice bands playing for us. The last half that was an out and back was hard psychologically, but lent itself to better support and traffic management.
20 Mountain Home Marathon for Kenya 11/21/09 Mountain Home AR 5:53:44 Marathon 252       Not quite as hilly as you might expect in this area. Missed a turn in the beginning and added an extra half mile. Well supported. Saw Steve Boone and another multi-marathoner on course. Met several very nice 50 staters. It was a pretty good day. :-)

18 Lousiana Trails 11/14/09 Shreveport LA 6:39:10 Marathon 58       1st of 6 in 3 weekends. Trying to take it kind of easy. Met up with Diana (MM #1536). We kind of traded turns pacing. She ended up getting runner up on Women's Masters Marathon! That was kind of exciting!

15 Swan Lake Marathon 06/14/09 Viborg SD 6:30:00 Marathon 80       Second part of a double weekend. Again trying to keep a 50 mile idea of pace. Second to last.
14 Marathon to Marathon 06/13/09 Marathon IA 5:48:00 Marathon 4       Nice quiet little marathon in one of the flatter parts of Iowa. I was trying out more of a 50 miler pace. I only know for sure that I was not last. :-)
13 Great Wall Marathon 05/16/09 Tianjin China 8:14 Marathon 55       Time limit was 8 hours. I am a DNF. :-( Height difference from start to highest spot is 300 meters! It is about 1.5 miles distance between these spots!
12 Lincoln Marathon 05/03/09 Lincoln NE 5:52:54 Marathon 916 1113 704/ 720 55/ 57 State number 5. My glute was bothering me. I also lost my Garmin and I was lost without it. Very nice marathon. Good city.

4 Chicago Marathon 10/12/08 Chicago IL 5:41:07 Marathon 20411 23588/ 31343 14309/ 17678 1091 First time I ever finished in a group of people at a marathon! That was cool. It did end up getting hot at the end. The spilt Gatorade made the street very sticky. That is what slowed me down. ;-) JK. I am very surprised at how far up the standings I finished. There are supposed to be 45000 registered runners. Note that they did go to Red condition while I was on course.
